Virgil Rogers, 50, resident of Indian Wells, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, in Phoenix. He was born Aug. 31, 1965, in Keams Canyon, to Jane Kanuho Rogers and David Rogers.
Virgil graduated from Holbrook High School. He attended refrigeration training in Phoenix. Also, he continued his training with UA Plumber Local 469 and worked as a journeymen.
Virgil never asked for much in return, always willing to lend a helping hand when asked, from plumbing, painting, mechanical work, cooking and above all a handyman.
Virgil loved traveling and has been to many states. He touched many people with his gentle heart and kindness and his respect for all walks of life. Virgil had a genuine heart of gold. He always had a joke and a smile.
Virgil is survived by his sisters, Dorothy K. Bates, Sarah Charles and Virginia Kanuho; stepbrother Delson Rogers; nieces Valencia Yazzie, Debbie Kanuho, Cherlynn Kanuho, Charlotte Kanuho and Nicole Kanuho; nephews Shaun Bates, Christopher Charles, Roscoe Kanuho and Enrique Kanuho.
He was preceded in death by Jimmie Kanuho and Raymond Kaunho.
Funeral services were held Sept. 23, in Holbrook with interment in the Holbrook Cemetery.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled arrangements.
