HUGHES,
Richard W.
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/28/2015
Richard W. Hughes of Chandler died peacefully Sept. 28, 2015, after a long battle with Lewey body dementia. He was born April 29, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Richard lived most of his life and spent his schooling years in San Francisco, Calif. He was in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Richard was the “world’s best fisherman.” Fishing was his passion. He taught his children and grandchildren to fish. Show Low Lake was his favorite fishing spot. There was always lots of fun and laughs. He was also a livid 49ers fan. Win or lose, he never gave up on them.
Richard lived by example, honesty and hard work. He worked for Foxworth Galbraith Lumber for several years while living in the White Mountains until they closed their doors.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of 31 years; one sister; five children; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Richard will be missed dearly by so many, many people that loved him dearly.
