EAGAR, William Callis (Cal)


Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona William Callis Eagar December 15, 1929 ~ October 25, 2015 U.S. Veteran William Callis Eagar, age 85, passed away at his home in Snowflake, Arizona on October 25, 2015. He was born on December 15, 1929 in Eagar, Arizona to Orson P. (Tobe) and Delila (Lila) Eagar. The town of Eagar was founded by and named for his grandfather. Cal served as an Army Medic in the Korean War. During his career, he worked in transport management, as a truck driver and in construction. Upon retirement, he moved to Snowflake with his wife Betty Jo and sons Andrew and Mitchell. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cal was an avid reader, conversant in both LDS Church history and Arizona history. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Gisele and son Russell, siblings Janie Hobson and Pratt Eagar. His survivors include his wife Betty Jo Greer Eagar, sons Andrew and Mitchell, grandson Kendall Eagar of Snowflake, and his sister Lucille Westfall of Glendale. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Eagar, Arizona. Interment will follow in the family plot at Eagar.
