CASSENS, Lilian Marie


Havasu News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published on November 5, 2015 - On Oct. 28, 2015 a beautiful soul left this earth, one day after her 103rd birthday – Lillian Marie Cassens. She was born in Winthrop, Mass. to Agnes Rock and Tyler James McEachern. Lillian graduated from Winthrop High School and Bryant Shatton Business School in Boston. Lillian played the violin and played in Carnegie Hall. Before moving to Phoenix, she enjoyed traveling by train and bus with her friends. Lillian moved from Winthrop to Rochester, N.Y. and later to Lake Havasu City. She helped to raise her six grandchildren. Her final two years were spent in Phoenix, at Vista Del Rio retirement home, where she had many friends, especially Irene and Warren. Lillian was preceded in death by siblings Grace, Marie, Eleanor, Herman, George and James. She loved her grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments; Allen (Paula), Rochester, N.Y.; Kevin, M.D. (Cheryl Avegno), Louisiana; Pamela, N.P. (Richard Waychoff), Phoenix; James (Marie Tabata), Camas, Wash.; Brian (Paula Hoeffliger), Las Vegas; and Keith, San Diego, Calif. Her twelve great-grandchildren are, Marissa Roberts, R.N., Phoenix; Michael, California; Chloe and Keegan, Louisiana; Jack, Joseph and Jace, Camas, Wash.; Han and Josie, Ohio; Marcus, Rochester, N.Y.; and her two great-great-grandchildren, Tierney and Nathan, Rochester, N.Y. Condolences may be sent to her surviving daughter, Mary Lou Callerame, M.D. at 5742 W Gambit Trail, Phoenix, AZ 85083. Lillian will be interned with her daughters, Marjorie Gertrude and Grace Marie Cassens, in Winthrop Cemetery. Mom, rest in peace, you will be forever loved and remembered.
