Catherine F. Bandurski, 95, passed away peacefully at Bethlehem
Woods Retirement Center.
She was born in Chicago to Edward M. and Anna Mae Coleman.
Catherine is the beloved wife of the late Stanley Bandurski, fond
mother of Richard (Dr. Susan Kupper) Adams, Mary Susan (Sue) (Bud)
Thomas, Michael (Linda) Adamski, proud grandmother of 30 and dear
great-grandmother of 32.
She attended Mundelein College and graduated from Purdue University
at the age of 57. She was a counselor for the state of Indiana. She
was also a genealogical researcher who worked as a volunteer at the
National Archives in Chicago. She made several trips to Ireland
studying her own family ancestry.
Catherine moved to Lake Havasu City in 2005 to be near her daughter
and son-in-law, Bud and Sue Thomas. She became an Elk. Because of
her amazing personality and zest for life, she made many wonderful
friends playing cards at the Elks Lodge and Senior Center. In 2011,
she returned to Illinois to be closer to her son and daughter-in-
law, Michael and Linda, and a much larger portion of her family.
She was preceded in death by daughter Anne Catherine (late Edward)
Graefen, Robert (Vicki) Adams, Gregory (Karen) Adamski and Mary Anne
who died shortly after birth also sisters, Alana (Harold) Brekke,
Mary Jo (John) Basic and brothers Bernard (Ada) Coleman and
Pat(Ruth) Coleman.
Her memorial is Nov. 4 in La Grange Park, Ill.
Interment will be at a later date.
