Joy Priscilla Davenport, “Tootsie,” 103, passed away peacefully Oct.
27, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. She was born to Andrew and Sarah
Perrin Sept. 12, 1912 in Ennis, Texas.
She met her husband, Percy in college and wed Dec. 23, 1937 in
Waxahachie, Texas. They were happily married for 61 years. They
loved RVing and traveling. The couple traveled around the world on
the Queen Mary II.
Joy was a teacher for 33 years in both Texas and California; she
taught kindergarten and first grade. She loved her students as if
they were her own children. She was an excellent painter and did
beautiful shell craft. She liked to fish.
Joy was a Red Hat Traveling Feathers member and enjoyed going across
Lake Havasu and playing the slot machines. She was dedicated to
exercising daily and kept an immaculate house. She never raised her
voice and always had a kind word for everyone.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Sarah Perrin,
and husband, Percy Davenport.
She is survived by her nephews, Jack (Darlene) Durbin of Lake Havasu
City and Duyanne (Karen) Manion of Kingman; niece, Nannette De Rusha
of California; great nieces and nephews, Marsha Durbin of Honolulu,
Darren Durbin of California and Andrew Durbin of Maui; great-great
nieces and nephews, Alysha and Savannah of Utah, Anela, Kalia, Lilia
of Maui and Hadyn of Honolulu.
The family would like to thank Home is Where the Heart Is for the
excellent care of Joy as well as Hospice of Havasu.
Funeral services will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Wednesday,
Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
