MYERS, Mark Steven


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, November 29, 2015 Mark Steven Myers Mark passed away Nov. 11, 2015, surrounded by family in Prescott, Arizona. He was born March 13, 1962, in Buffalo, New York, to William and Margie Myers. In July 1967, his family moved to Westlake Village, California. He graduated from Agoura High school and attended Pierce Community College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He married Julianna in September 1995 and they were sealed in the Manti Temple in August 2005. They lived in Thousand Oaks, California, until 2005, when Mark and Julianna moved to Mayer, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Julianna; two daughters, Jessica and Rebecca; mother Margie Myers Price; brother Gregory and his wife, Susan; brother-in-law Michael and his wife Leilani Leighton; nieces and nephews Nicolette, Garret, Jaclyn Myers, and Patrick and Morgan Leighton; in-laws Diana and Larry Short and Henry and Jan Leighton. He was preceded in death by his father, William; and grandmother, Gladys Sadler. He worked for Dukes Engineering, Dale Poe Development Corp and Beechcraft Aircraft. Mark was first and foremost a family man. He was a loving husband, father and son, kind and gentle with a great sense of humor. His interests were his family; in particular, they all enjoyed raising and competing with their miniature horses, being involved with his children in school, 4-H animals raising pigs. He loved his Labradors and being active in his church. He loved his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and his country. Mark was World Champion in 2010 and Res. World Champion in 2009 at the American Miniature Horse Association World Show. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which he served as first counselor, secretary and ward clerk for nine years. He was also involved in off-roading, including racing in the Baja 1000, VW cars, flying, scuba diving and giving hours of service. Mark's favorite place to give of his time was the Mesa Cannery. Local services are to be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7073 E. Pronghorn Ranch Parkway, Prescott Valley, Arizona, 928-772-1850, at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015. The graveside service will be at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village, California, at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome for the Jessica and Rebecca Myers College Fund at Chase Bank. The family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of prayers, love, meals and service, and the Yavapai Regional Medical Center for their care, love and kindness of taking care of their beloved papa.
