Kenneth George Kranhold, 82, died, Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at Mountain View Manor in Prescott, Arizona following a sudden stroke four days earlier.
Ken was born in Tacoma, Washington on Nov. 13, 1933 to George K. and Dagne E. Kranhold. He attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, graduating in 1951. That same year he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as an air traffic controller until 1954.
Following his graduation from Montana State University in 1961 with an electrical engineering degree, he worked as an electronics engineer for U.S. Government for duration of his career. For much of that time he was based in the Washington D.C. area and also served extensively in numerous overseas areas. Upon retiring in the mid 1980s, he relocated to Prescott, Arizona where he was very active in the Prescott community until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Von Brentano of Prescott, Arizona; his son, Keith Kranhold also of Prescott; two grandsons, Joshua and Nicolas Kranhold of Leavenworth, Kansas; and his sister, Lillian Gallion of Black Diamond, Washington.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Nov. 30, 2015, at the Prescott National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to the Yavapai Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Prescott, AZ 86302.
