The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 Born Colleen Ruth Nuemueller on Nov. 24, 1927, to Otto and Lorraine Nuemueller in Davenport, Iowa, she passed away Nov. 21, 2015. Colleen graduated Davenport High School and entered Iowa Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing as a cadet nurse. She graduated in 1948. Colleen attended Grandview College and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Robert Lee Johns on Oct. 30, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa. They farmed near Clinton, Iowa and Colleen worked at Mercy Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1961. Colleen worked at Northwest Hospital and then in the office of doctors Reger and Hagan until she retired in 1993. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Prescott, Arizona. Colleen was secretary of the Yavapai Symphony Guild for many years and a member of the Quarterly Queens Social Club. Colleen was enrolled in the Ollie Institute at Yavapai College. She especially enjoyed these classes. She was a member of the Westeners, Cadet Nurse Group and the Republican Woman's Group. She enjoyed the Phoenix Symphony concerts and the Pop Symphony Orchestra concerts. Colleen was a volunteer at the Community Cupboard. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church since her arrival in Prescott and attended regularly. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; and daughters Laura and Colleen. She is survived by two sons, Robert Jr. of Tucson and Ross Johns of Prescott; one daughter-in-law Diane; and six grandchildren, Dori Lind, Christopher Johns, Kirsten Zimmer, Kari Johns, Chad Johns and Holly Johns; granddaughters-in-law Jody Johns and Bethany Johns; grandsons-in-law Scott and Ben; sister June McArdle; and brother-in-law Clarence McArdle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane, Prescott, Arizona. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, Arizona. Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
