The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, November 22, 2015 Jeanne J. Jones, born Feb. 9, 1922 in Canon City, Colorado, the daughter of Hellen S. and John M. Jacobs, passed away Nov. 14, 2015. She was a generous spirit, good friend and loving family member. After moving to Phoenix in the early 1930s, Jeanne attended Kenilworth School and Phoenix Union High School. She also attended Phoenix College, Flagstaff Teachers College (NAU) and the University of Arizona. Over the years, Jeanne was active in many charitable organizations including the Goodwill Industries Antique Sale, Phoenix Art Museum, Heard Museum, Assistance League of phoenix, Mother's March on Polio, the Historical Societies of Arizona, Wickenburg and Phoenix, serving on the Board of Directors of many of them. She also worked on the Heart, Red Cross and Cancer Balls. She is a life member of the Navapache Hospital and the Arizona National Livestock Show. In recent years, her main focus has been on Benevilla, where she served on the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2012. She has received community awards from various organizations such as Benevilla, Interfaith Services, Sun Health Hospice, the Arizona Historical Society Museum, Interfaith Services and Make-A-Wish. A member of All Saints Episcopal Church from the time it was a "mission" church, she serviced for 12 years on the Women's Group Board and was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the Memorial Garden there and spent many years as a Sunday school teacher. She has been a member of Church of the Advent Episcopal Church in Sun City West for the last 27 years. She is survived by daughter Deborah Michels of Carlsbad, California; son and daughter-in-law William R. and Cynthia Zellmer of Mancos, Colorado; granddaughter Wynona Heim (Jeremy); and three great grandchildren, Rhiannon, William and Quinn Heim of Peoria, Arizona. She was preceded in death by husbands Forrest Zellmer and Glenn Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Church of the Advent, 131 W. Spanish Garden Drive, Sun City West, AZ 86375 or to Benevilla, 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise, AZ 85374. She will be missed by all who knew her.
