Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published on December 2, 2015 - James Flood, 75, Lake Havasu City, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 18, 2015. James Anthony Flood, Jr. was born May 24, 1940 in Liverpool, Ohio, to James and Kristine (Beck) Flood, Sr. After graduation from high school, Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960. He then returned to the Army as an airborne Ranger in the 101st in Vietnam. He was an iron worker for Local Union 433 in Los Angeles, and then owned his own business as a building inspector. Jimmy married Debra Hanson in Mexico on Sept. 29, 2007. They were together for 26 years. They lived in Hacienda Heights and Upland, Calif., before moving to Lake Havasu City four years ago. Jimmy is best known for his humor and kindness that he shared with everyone. His greatest accomplishment was his 40 years of being clean and sober, inspiring many through Narcotics Anonymous. He gave hope and laughter to those in recovery, and was known to extend his hand financially when others were in need. He was a professional hunter and a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He was also an avid skydiver and professional bodybuilder. He was known to many as a mountain man a/k/a Jimmy Two Bears. He is survived by his wife Debra; two daughters, Crystal and Tudi Flood of Santa Ana, Calif.; three sisters, Margaret Briggs and Aloyse Larson, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mary Flood of Silver Dale, Wash.; and two grandchildren. A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Dec. 5 at Lake Havasu Mortuary. A viewing and visitation is noon-2 p.m. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. A reception will follow the service at 35 S. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Riverside Veteran Cemetery on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory, veteran and family-owned.
