Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/04/2015
Candace (Candy) Elvera Marsh-Moore, 65, died peacefully Nov. 21, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones in Grand Rapids, Mich. She was born Oct. 11, 1950, in Grand Rapids. Her family later relocated to Phoenix.
She married Kenneth Moore in 1989 and the two of them raised seven sons together, Shane, Piet, Kevin, Jason, Joey and Rusty (deceased).
Candy is survived by two older sisters, Barbara June and Betty Jean; older brother Karl Junior; younger sister Pamela; and younger brothers Bruce and Timothy Avilla. She is also survived by six sons; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three daughters-in-law, Amanda, Missy and Jessica; and best friend of 50 years, Ann.
Candy was a special spirit, like a willow in the wind. She spent her later years traveling in her red car with the license plates “Syndrla” to spend time with her family. She lived by the motto “Having a place to go is home, having someone to love is family, and having both is a blessing.” She lived like a nomad and believed “not all who wander are lost.”
A public visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 3, at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Snowflake. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Pioneer Park Chapel, 421 N. Main St., in Snowflake. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
She will be buried next to her mother, Viola Avilla, in the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
