Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published on December 13, 2015 >>> 1929 – Nov. 7, 2015 <<< Harry Wilson was called home to the Lord, Nov. 7, 2015. Harry was known as “Hap” to his friends at Phoenix Union High School. In 1951 Hap joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served four years in Germany. While there he met his first wife Frances Prouty and married in 1954. They loved to travel and were able to celebrate their 55th Anniversary before Fran passed away in May 2010. Hap worked for the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Geodetic Survey (COSurvey), Washington, D.C. Graduated from San Bernardino Valley College, California. Harry was promoted to the Contracting Officer for the San Bernardino National Forrest, and retired after 28 years. A licensed pilot and Ultralight Instructor for many years, Harry’s favorite hobby was flying. He was known for building a Challenger Ultralight airplane in his garage. In Lake Havasu City, Harry had the opportunity to serve the community. In 2007 he became a volunteer for Hospice of Havasu and the Senior Center. Harry also served his Lord as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. In the fall of 2010, Harry met Adrienne. They were often heard saying “it was a God thing” and were married in 2011. Harry is survived by his wife and best friend Adrienne; daughter, Aileen (Wayne) Osborn of Bonaire, Ga.; son, Steven (Kaydee) Wilson of Cave Creek, Ariz.; brother, Daniel Wilson of Palm Desert, Calif.; granddaughters, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Harry is also survived by many close friends. A Celebration of Life is Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu or the Alzheimer’s Connection in Harry’s name. Rest in peace honey, you will be forever loved and remembered.
