Loving mother, grandmother and friend, Beverly Ann Poole, 79, of
Lake Havasu City, passed peacefully in her home Thursday, Dec. 10,
after a long illness.
Beverly was born Dec. 1, 1936 in Hancock, Maine, daughter of the
predeceased George W. and Helen L. (Dewitt) York.
Beverly is predeceased by her loving husband, Lawrence Poole, Jr of
South Bristol, Maine in 2006. Married in June 1956, they were long-
standing residents in Derby, Conn., prior to their retirement to
Lake Havasu City in 2000.
Beverly was an amazing lady who always put others first, never
complained and always was ready with a comeback or joke. She was
feisty, yet kindhearted and giving. Bev worked tirelessly in the
various ministries of the Shelton Congregational Church in Shelton,
Conn., and more recently was a faithful, encouraging member of the
Southwest Baptist Church of Lake Havasu. She was also an unselfish
caregiver both for others and her various elderly family members.
Beverly is predeceased by her step-mother, Dorothy F. (Dodge) York
(2011); sister, Shirley R. Robinson (April 2014); and her grandson,
David J. Poole (2009).
She is survived by her sons, Lawrence Poole III and his wife Susan
of Kingwood, Texas and Robert E. Poole and his wife Karen of
Beckley, W.V.; four grandchildren, Crystal L. Hafford and Robert A.
Poole of Connecticut, Rebecca D. Stover of Kentucky and Jennifer T.
Poole of West Virginia; two step-grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; and two siblings, brother Wilbur York of Maine and
sister Kay Murray of New York.
A memorial service is at Naugatuck Congregational Church, 9 Division
St., Naugatuck, Conn. on Jan. 9. Lake Havasu services will be
announced early next year.
Beverly generously donated her remains to the Life Science
Foundation of America to assist in the treatment and care of future
patients.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Skilled Nursing
Unit of Havasu Regional Medical Center.
