TUCK, Norman Augustus

Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, December 29, 1920, page 2, column 2 Veteran Of Spanish War Dies Of Illness Norman Tuck, a Spanish war veteran, who was disabled during the Cuban campaign in 1898, and who was rushed to the county hospital from Cottonwood Tuesday evening, died there yesterday morning after a practically life-long battle with tuberculosis, contracted while fighting in Cuba. The deceased had moved from place to place during the last few years in an attempt to fight off the advances of the disease. Failing to improve at the Sawtelle, Calif. Soldiers' Home, he came to Cottonwood, whence he was sent by friends to Castle Hot Springs, in the hope that that climate might benefit him. Everything failed, however, and Tuck returned to Cottonwood, where he declined steadily, until he was brought to Prescott Tuesday at the end of his battle with the life-long enemy. Tuck was 37 years of age at the time of his death. He leaves a widow and several small children who are living in Cottonwood. Transcriber's note: Burial was made in the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
