PAINTER, Evelyn Catherine

Arizona Republic (Phoenix AZ) Sunday, April 4, 2010 Evelyn Catherine Painter, 85, passed away Friday April 2, 2010 at the Margaret T. Morris Center, in Prescott, Arizona. She was born "Christmas Day", 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was one of five children born to Peter and Julia (Grauer) Stehle. After graduation from Mansfield Senior High, in 1942, she went to work for the Painter Confection Company. Here she would meet her future husband, Robert Reid Painter. They were married July 28, 1944, in Wickenburg, Arizona. She lived most of her life in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Prescott, in 1999. Evelyn worked many years for Arizona Downs, as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, bingo and caring for her little dog "Buttons". She leaves behind a daughter Cynthia (Bud) Moore of Parks, Arizona, son Tom (Bev) Painter of Pass Christian, MS, brother James (Myra) of Mansfield, Ohio, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home 8167 E. HWY 69 Prescott Valley, Arizona.
