Joe Collins, 76, of Chino Valley, Arizona, departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at his home in Chino Valley, Arizona. Joe was born July 26, 1939, in Marshall, Texas, to Joseph J. and Sybil Collins.
Joe spent his younger years in Las Vegas, graduating from Las Vegas High School. He was a long time resident of Reno, Nevada, Golden, Colorado and also Shreveport, Louisiana, serving as General Manager of Casinos in Reno, Black Hawk, Colorado and Shreveport, Louisiana.
Joe was loved and adored by his family, many friends and former employees. He will long be remembered for his sense of humor and his constant greetings - "NEVER HAD A BAD DAY"
Joe's passion was for water skiing, hunting and spending time with family and friends, especially Christmas. "What better place to spend Christmas than in heaven." God bless his loving heart.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; and son Joseph Wesley Collins.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn; brother Butch "Jimmy" (Dorean) Collins; sisters Fran Mc Chrystal and Sharon Guevara; daughter Debra Akers of Lincoln, California; daughter-in-law Beth Collins of Reno, Nevada; stepdaughter Kelli Malone of Reading, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Patricia and James Dowd.
