Louise Ann Begay peacefully died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at her home in Holbrook with her family by her side. She was born March 8, 1938, in Old Sunrise Springs to Edna Begay and John X. Nez.
Louise attended Intermountain School in Utah. She lived most of her life in Holbrook and worked two to three jobs at a time at various places, recently retiring in 2014 from the Adobe Inn of 50 years as supervisor in the housekeeping and laundry fields.
“Louise loved the Lord, she was our superwoman, we are so thankful for the kind love she gave her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of us.”
Survivors include her son, Edmond Sam of Many Farms; four daughters, Michelle Sam and Jacqueline (Raleigh) Scott of Holbrook; Jeanette Sam of Phoenix, and Richelle Keams of Chinle; one very special sister, Dorothy Jim of Greasewood; and 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Begay and John X. Nez; two sons, Ernie and Irvin Sam; brother Dan Begay; and four sisters, Lois Spencer, Jeanette (JB) Keams, Ella Begay and Mary Begay.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Holbrook Faith Assembly of God Church, 311 E. Erie.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled arrangements.
