FLORES, Ynez

Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, November 8, 1911, page 8, column 5 Crazed By Pain Mexican Dies A Suicide (From Tuesday's Daily) Ynes Flores, a Mexican laborer on the territorial highway, who was brought to the county hospital last Thursday, committed suicide Sunday afternoon by shooting himself through the heart with a pistol. While working on the grade he had the misfortune to have his face badly burned from exploding powder and the intense pain with which he suffered is attributed to the reason for his rash act. Flores made hasty preparations to carry out the destruction of himself in a deliberate manner. While no one was around a building on the outside of the main quarters, he went to the inside, pulled off his had and coat, and placed the barrel over his heart , and fired the shot that ended his life in a few moments. Aside from informing several inmates that he could not much longer stand the pain, he gave no indications of contemplating suicide. He had recently arrived in the country from Phoenix, and nothing is known of him other than he had been with the revolutionists in Mexico. ------------------ Tombstone Epitaph, Tombstone, Arizona Territory Sunday, November 19, 1911, page 2, column 3 Ynez Flores (sic), a native of Mexico, committed suicide at the Yavapai county hospital last Sunday by shooting himself through the heart with a pistol. ------------------- Transcriber's note: Mr. Florez is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
