Candace “Candy” Murdock, 68, passed away Nov. 30 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born Oct. 8, 1947 in Heber City, Utah to Joseph Don and Nina Marie Murdock.
Candy, as she was known to her family and friends, loved the great outdoors, the mountains, the trees and the rivers of Utah. She grew to love the mountains and the desert of the Chemehuevi. She moved to Havasu Lake, Calif. 25 years ago, coming from Heber City, Utah. Candy was a Chemehuevi Tribal Council Member.
Candy was an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.
Candy is survived by her children, Joe (Lisa) Murdock of Lake Havasu City, Don Walters of Roosevelt, Utah and Brent Barney of Orem, Utah; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Marvel Murdock and Randi (Bruce) Giddie of Havasu Lake, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; mother, Nina; brother, Thomas Murdock and long-time companion, Paul Loveland.
A celebration of life is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Chemehuevi Cemetery in Havasu Lake with a luncheon to follow at Nu Wuvi Park. The Chemehuevi spiritual leaders and family will be officiating.
