| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Monday, January 18, 2016 Anthony Matthew Soroka, age 87, passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona. Tony was born in St. Louis, Missouri, of immigrant parents Kazimier and Sarafina Soroka of Lithuania. He retired from Sinclair/Atlantic Richfield/Mobil Oil Company after 36 years as a Materials and Services Analyst. Most of his working years were spent in Evergreen, Colorado, which was his favorite place to live. Tony was known by his friends for his intelligence, humor, kindness and generosity. He loved horses and owned several thoroughbreds and Arabians in his younger years. He loved music and was especially fond of the early jazz performers. He loved traveling and visited Israel, Switzerland and many U.S. states. He was an avid stock trader and maintained an impressive portfolio until his health declined in recent weeks. He loved gourmet foods and watched the TV food and travel channels every day. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles and Mike. He is survived by several nieces and nephews in the St. Louis area. Tony requested no services but his ashes will be scattered in his beloved Colorado. Heritage Memory Mortuary was entrusted with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors. |
