| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, January 17, 2016 Steven Joseph Murray, beloved husband of Debbie, placed his hand in the hand of God on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016. Dedicated to serving his customers in Chino Valley for over 25 years, he was a respected businessman and a dear friend to all. Steve was born Dec. 21, 1951 to John Paul and Patsy Murray in San Diego, California, where he grew up between California and Phoenix. Always high energy, he fully embraced life and adventure. Marrying Debbie in 1977, she was the love of his life - and covenant partner in all things. Certified divers, theirs was a trusted friendship from the depth of the oceans, and throughout the shared landscape of life. In 1980, they opened Murray's Locksmith together in San Diego. A new adventure called in 1990, when they left California to explore the mountains and valleys of Arizona. Steve and Debbie planted their roots and hearts in Chino Valley in 1990, establishing their home and locksmith business, which expanded over time to include Chino Valley Discount Groceries. Funny and faithful in all things, his generous heart and helping hands were always available to family and friends, neighbors, and his loyal family of customers. They were especially large and loving to those in moments of need. Steve will be remembered in love and joy to God at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 2062 North Highway 89, Chino Valley, Arizona. Reception to follow.
