| David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home, Wickenburg, Arizona John “Bruzzy” Cooke Bruzzy (John A ) Cooke of Wickenburg, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, January 24th after a short but courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was 74 years old. Bruzzy was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 2, 1941 to Almond Cooke and Jennye Parrish Cooke. He was a graduate of Eastern High School and the University of Louisville. He was a former owner of Broadway Chevrolet which is father, Almond Cooke had started. He sold the dealership in 1991. He was also a member of the Bluegrass chapter of the Young President’s Organization. On January 20, 1968, Bruzzy married the love of his life, Polly Townsend. They were married for 48 years. He is survived by his wife and 2 daughters, Polly Cooke Foster and Tamar Parrish Luck as well as 4 grandchildren, Caitlyn and Christopher Foster and John David and Andrew Luck. In 1996 Bruzzy and Polly moved from Louisville to Sonoita, Arizona where they lived for 14 years before finally settling in Wickenburg. They had a great passion for horses and enjoyed showing horses as well as trail riding. Bruzzy was a member of the Los Charros del Desierto of Tucson, Arizona and the Desert Caballeros in Wickenburg, Arizona. Bruzzy had a great passion for life and always had a smile on his face. Everywhere he went people immediately fell in love with him. Not only did he and Polly enjoy riding but they loved to travel and enjoyed fly fishing as well as shooting sports. A special thank you goes to the wonderful loving and caring staff at the Sherman Hospice Home in Phoenix, Arizona There will be a Service and Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 6th at 11:30 a.m. at the Rancho Bar 7 in Wickenburg, AZ. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, Dale Wilkinson Memorial Crisis Fund, 3021 W Reno Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73107 |
