Death Claims Peter Meade
Peter Meade, one of the most widely known mining men in Yavapai county and a resident of this county for more than 30 years, died here this morning at 5 o'clock from a heart disorder.
Mr. Meade had a host of friends among the veteran mining men of the county and was respected by all who knew him for his splendid upright, honest character.
For about the last 25 years he had been located near Octave where he held a group of mining claims. He was removed to Prescott from his home in Octave on Monday for medical care, but his condition was such that very little could be done for him.
Mr. Meade was born in County Meade, Ireland, and came to this county as a boy. He was a bachelor, and is survived by only two nieces, on of whom lives in Elgin, Illinois, and the other in the state of Georgia.
His age was approximated by a friend this morning to be about 75 years.
Funeral services will take place at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Meade is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
