| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/02/2016 Frank George Yakimovicz January 29, 1921 - January 27, 2016 Frank Yakimovicz, 94, of Show Low went to our Lord Jan. 27, 2016. A devoted Catholic and decorated veteran of World War II, he joined the Army Air Corps in October 1941 as an aerial engineer and later retired as CMSgt from Carswell AFB, Texas, in 1970. He followed this with a second career in the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1990. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Gach, and 11 brothers and sisters. After raising three children, his family was blessed as it expanded with his marriage to Mary Ferguson and her son. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Ann (Steve Miller) Yakimovicz, Frank (Jill) Yakimovicz, Carole (Don) Johnson and Ron (Karen) Ferguson; grandchildren William, Abigail, Conner, Aaron and Blake; and sisters Trudy and Mary. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens St. in Show Low. Interment and a graveside service will follow Saturday, Feb. 6, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas. The family wished to express their appreciation to all of the physicians and staff of Haven of Show Low, St. Rita’s Catholic Church, and friends near and far.
