| Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Thursday, December 10, 2015 elen Vann Lipe, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 26, 2015, at the age of 80. She was born in Orleans, Minnesota and moved to Phoenix in 1955, where she worked as a secretary for 20 years at Motorola. After retirement, Helen was the office manager for the husband's family business for the next 10 years. She loved to dance and shop, and was always quick to make new friends. Helen met the love of her life, Jake at a telephone company party where after the party, her then boyfriend left her alone in his truck to help a friend who had drank too much. Jake decided to make his move. As a group moved onto yet another party, Jake kicked one of Helens shoes into an outside hedge. A few days later he showed up at Helen's apt with the shoe in hand. This led to a marriage at St. Gregory's Church and 56 wonderful years together. They loved to travel, and went to places like Alaska, the UK and South America. When at her home in Cornville, she liked to watch & feed treats to their herd of Alpacas. Helen is survived by her husband Jake, sister-in-law Mary Stephenson, brother-in-law Howard Lipe, and many nephews and nieces. She will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a private memorial service in the spring. Information provided by survivors. |
