Gladys Mae (Heft) Hillsman

Gladys Mae Hillsman went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2015. She was born in Freemont Ohio on April 27, 1931, and was the oldest of three children.

Her family knew her as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed baking, preparing meals for her family and friends and looked forward to visits filled with laughter and stories with her crochet club. She and her husband, Walter, founded Emmanuel Fellowship in Cottonwood in 1982 where she served as an organist and/or pianist. She was devoted to God and praying for her family, friends and community. She served as a volunteer at the Rising Hope Food Pantry in Cottonwood, praying for people and passing out Bibles.

Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Rev. Walter Hillsman in 2007. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15

Gladys is survived by her four children; Kimberly (Phil) Daniels of Niceville, Florida; Julia Hillsman of Clarkdale; Joseph (Christine) Hillsman of Phoenix; Joel (Stephanie) Hillsman of Phoenix; her brother, Floyd (Shirley) Heft of Ohio; her sister, Helen (Phil) Rees of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
