Elizabeth M. (Wells) Potts

Born on Nov. 2, 1921, Elizabeth M. (Wells) Potts received her elementary and secondary education in Globe, AZ.

Following her graduation from Globe High School, she worked as secretary in the Arizona State Department of Health.

She was married to John O. Potts on Nov. 16, 1945. After the birth of their two children, she became secretary of the First Baptist Church of Prescott.

Moving to Cottonwood in 1974, she worked as secretary of Verde Valley Baptist Church until her retirement.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Etta Wells, her siblings, twin sister, Lillian Burrow, and brothers, Robert and Otto Wells as well as her great-grandson, Josh.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John O. Potts, her children, Charles (Janet) Potts, Donna (Rick) Potts-Gill, sister-in-law, Hazel Thomas, brother-in-law, Paul (Janet) Potts, grandchildren, Debbie Potts, Chris (Jim) Young, Carrie (Jason) Zienianski, Tim (Danae) Potts, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Memorial service will be held Sat., Dec. 5, at 10:00 A. M. at Cottonwood Village, 215 E. Mingus, Cottonwood, AZ.
