| Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Saturday, December 19, 2015 Dorothy "Dot" Vaccaro, 88, of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away December 11, 2015. Dot was born June 8, 1927 in Rising Star, Texas, to Wirt and Ruby Small. Dot had a career as a nurse. Once she retired, she spent her time volunteering in hospitals and delivering meals on wheels to senior citizens. She loved traveling, especially abroad. Animals were also a passion of hers & she rescued many dogs. Dot was known for her infectious sense of humor. She made everyone laugh. Even through her pain, she retained her wonderful sense of humor. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John C. and Ted M. Small, and husband of 73 years, Richard P. Vaccaro, who passed away October 4, 2015. Dot is survived by her daughters Sheila Mihelich, Cindy Harms, Dana Vaccaro, Jeanette McKee, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. No local services will be held. Her cremated remains will be interred alongside her husband's in Bayfield, Colorado,on June 19, 2016. Donations in her name can be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Information provided by survivors. |
