William E. Harwell, 89 of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday the 13th of September in Cottonwood where he is at peace now.

William was born on September 3, 1926 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Norman and Mildred (Stout) Harwell.

He married Marjorie J. Bennett of Cranston, RI on September 21, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, MO. They were married for 65 years. He was the last surviving member of his generation.

William served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in the Army during World War II.

He was a Commercial Photographer in his own business in Cranston, RI. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Sedona, AZ then to Cottonwood, AZ.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie; 2 sons Jeffrey and his wife Barbara Jo of Houston, TX and Lee and one granddaughter Celine of Tampa, Florida and several nieces and nephews of Jackson, MO. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Kelly of Jackson, MO.
Westcott Funeral Home is handling the cremation. There will be no services.
