Timothy Lee Bates, 66, of Fort Mohave, Arizona, died December 16, 2015 in Cottonwood. He was born September 22, 1949 in Monroe, Michigan, the son of Robert and Virginia Bates.

He attended St. Mary's School. Tim served his country in the Air Force in the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he worked for the Western Area Region Medical Center. Tim enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, golf and sports in general. He enjoyed his dog "Wheatie" and also his "granddogs".

He was preceded in death by his father Robert H. "Bob" Bates and brother-in-law Daniel Hopkins.

Tim leaves his wife of 21 years, Cathleen; daughters Melissa Callie Bates (Jonathan) of Phoenix and Jayme Nicole Bates (Tyson) of Peoria; a brother Steven Robert Bates (Connie); sisters, Michelle Hauet (Eugene) of Ft. Mohave, Nancy Hopkins (the late Daniel) of Page and Terry Bates of Mohave; his dog "Wheatie" and five grand-dogs.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, December 23 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N. Bill Grey Rd, Cottonwood, at 9:30 AM.

A Funeral Mass will held in the Church at 10 AM. Inurnment will follow in All Souls Cemetery.VFW Post 7400 will present military honors.
