| Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, February 2, 2016 Joe Roy Joy, 91, of Camp Verde passed away on January 26, 2016 in Camp Verde, Arizona. He was born on August 18, 1924 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Carter Troupe Joy and Myrtle May Hoag. Joe was a carpenter and a car salesman for Ford Motors for many years in Prescott, Arizona. He was a god fearing man who served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Okinawa and received two Purple Heart medals. He was a member of the NRA and DAV. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, bull riding and he especially enjoyed watching Nascar racing. Joe is survived by his loving spouse of 38 years, Betty; daughters, Joanne Joy, Trudy (Don) Floyd, Carolyn (Esteban) Sanchez, Phyllis (Rex) Hatfield; Son, Ralph Scott; nieces, Charlene Baker, Charlotte (Lou) Hall; nephew, Bob (Roxanne) Joy; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He was loved unconditionally and will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans fund in Joe's name. A memorial service will be held 11am, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Bueler Funeral Home 143 W. Arnold Street Camp Verde, Arizona 86322. Information provided by survivors. |
