Arrangements by Heritage Memory Mortuary. --------------------------- The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, February 3, 2016, p. 6a James "Jim" Miller lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease on Jan. 22, 2016. In 1944, after a long train ride from his home state of West Virginia, Jim and his family arrived in Prescott at the Depot in downtown Prescott. He attended Miller Valley School where in the second grade he met his future wife, the love of his life Catherine. Eleven years later, they married and shared 58 years of wedded bliss together. Jim graduated from PHS in 1956 and then served in the active Army Reserves. He went on to work for Coca Cola when they were bottling their product here in Prescott, working with his father. The Bagdad mine was his next endeavor. Deciding to move his family back to Prescott, he became a milkman. He ended his working career as the Road Superintendent for districts 1 and 2 of Yavapai County. Jim is survived by his wife Catherine; son Mark (Jennifer) and their children Jacob and Lucas all of Prescott; daughter-in-law Rosella and her children Dax and Cassandra all from California; sisters, Helen Coker (Ken), Mary Rivera, Jeanie Morgan (Paul); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Pansy; sisters Betty Simpson (Milton) and Judy Roe (Herb); and his son John. Jim had a love for the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping were high on his list. But above all Jim loved to spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thank you to the staff at Granite View Care home and Hospice of the Pines for the compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hope and Care Foundation through Hospice of the Pines. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at the Willow Hills Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott.
