Patricia (Pat) (Swenson) Berg

Patricia (Pat) Berg, age 78, from Chino Valley, Arizona died at her beloved home with her family at her side, from non-Hodgkins lymphoma, on Feb. 7, 2016. She was born on Jan. 16, 1938 in White Plains, New York to Wyman Swenson and Georgia (Matuszewski) Swenson.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Walter (Wally) Berg; brother Eric (Holly) Swenson of Seattle, Washington; children Kelly Achenbach of Northbrook, Illinois, Kirk Achenbach of Poplar Grove, Illinois, Kathy (Billy) Baruth of Lincolnshire, Illinois, Drusilla (Greg) Hay of Libertyville, Illinois; her children at heart, Valerie (Graeme) Parkes of Scottsdale, Arizona, Dan MacLaughlin of Cave Creek, Arizona; her grandchildren, Matt and Scott Hay; Alexander, Annika and Allen Witte; Abigail Achenbach; and Samantha Parkes; her nephew Gulliver (Waverly) Swenson of Mercer Island, Washington.

Pat graduated from Mahopac Central High School in Mahopac, New York where she was a member of the Glee Club, Assistant Editor of the school newspaper and Vice-President of her class her sophomore through senior years as well as acting in many school plays.

She will best be remembered for her kind and loving heart, helping out many people by opening her home to get them back on their feet. She held many jobs over the years that mostly included bookkeeping and working with her husband in his auto repair businesses. Her interests included knitting, crafts, gardening, camping, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren.

Memorials to celebrate her life will be this spring in Arizona and Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
