| Arizona Republic (Phoenix AZ) Saturday, September 5, 1942, Sec. 2, p 1 Charles Tweed Taken By Death Wickenburg, Sept. 4--Charles Henry Tweed, 75 years old, died of a heart attack Thursday in Wickenburg. His grandfather was Judge C. A. Tweed who served under President Grant as associate justice of the Arizona territory in 1870. Funeral services are slated for 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Wickenburg. Mr. Tweed, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 27, 1867, was the son of Harriet Kimbal Dodge of Boston, Mass., and Henry A. Tweed of New York City. The family came to Tombstone in 1881 where they established a horse ranch. His grandfather, Judge Tweed, went to California in 1849 from South Reading, Mass. Appointed associate justice of this territory in 1870 by President Grant he later was associated with Capt. W. A. Hancock of Phoenix in a law firm. Surviving Mr. Tweed are Dr. Charles H. Tweed, jr., of Tucson and Lt. William M.
