| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, October 24, 1940, page 2, column 5 John G. Scott, Phoe4nix, about 55, former Yavapai ranch foreman, died today at a local hospital following a short illness. Foreman of the Pollock and Brown ranch, near Ashfork for two years about two decades ago, Mr. Scott retired from the cattle business to become a driver at the Veterans Facility, Whipple. Mr. Scott was born in Sweetwater, Texas and was a cattleman before coming to Yavapai county 23 years ago to become associated with the Pollock and Brown cattle company. He was employed at the Veterans facility for 12 years and had been in public utility work in Phoenix for the last 10 years, connected with the Mariposa Water company. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Beulah Scott, a daughter, Mrs. J. O. Shellington, Prescott, a son, Noah J. Scott, Parker, and granddaughter, Betty J. O. Shellington, and a grandson, Noah Scott, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Latter Day Saints church from the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home.
