Born Carol Germaine Quindry, daughter of Silvester Eugene Quindry and Constance Ethel Coles, Germaine passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, Feb. 13, where she lived at Las Fuentes Resort Village in Prescott, Arizona.

She is survived by two first cousins, Kenneth and Lowell Quindry; nephews and nieces, Thomas Leland Quindry, Constance Quindry Yetke, Frank Richard Quindry, Sallie Reid Smith and their families. Her brothers, Frank Eugene Quindry and Leland Arkell Quindry and a nephew, Albert Eugene Quindry, predeceased her. First husband, Frank Wellman Shriver (married 53 years), and second husband, Barney Brooks Asbury (married 10 years), also predeceased her. She had said that she was lucky enough to have fallen in love for a second time after Frank's death.

Germaine was a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, in Music Education. While Germaine was Supervisor of Music for elementary schools in Boardman Township, Ohio, she became an early pioneer in educational TV teaching music for classroom use. She directed a chorus of students from schools throughout her district for special events. She was artistic and creative in many ways. She was an expert seamstress and could design and sew clothing for herself and others and enjoyed planning her home décor.

Germaine was very active during her long life. She loved to play the piano and played most recently this past Christmas. She played the organ for church services, weddings and other events in the Phoenix area before moving to Prescott. She was an avid bridge player throughout her life. She celebrated her 100th birthday at Las Fuentes with family and friends. She further celebrated by traveling to Lake Como, Italy, with Priscilla Ruth MacDougall, daughter of Germaine's childhood and lifelong friend, the late Genevieve Rockwood MacDougall.

According to her wishes, there will be no services. Interment for Germaine's ashes will be at the Garden of Memories at "The Church at Litchfield Park, AZ" where both of her husbands' ashes are interred.
