Surrounded by the incredible love of her family and intimate friends, on Feb. 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., Mary Roberta Slaughter of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully at her home as she wished. Born in Burwell, Nebraska, on May 20, 1950, Mary is survived by her loving husband "Hal"; her mother, Eleanor Spears, and her son Logan. She is preceded by her sisters Kay Marie Crumpler and Sarah Gober. Mary was a devout citizen of Prescott, dedicating her career to the Yavapai County Courthouse.

Mary loved sharing her life with her husband Hal of 29 years. In 1989, their family grew with the arrival of their son Logan, the pride and joy of her life. Together they enjoyed bowling, playing cards, visiting the local casinos and taking summer vacations to visit their son in Fire Island, New York. She enjoyed nothing more than watching her son Logan grow into a successful man in NYC. Mary and her son share an exceptional, everlasting bond. Friends and loved ones often gathered at their welcoming home, celebrating life accomplishments and many joyous occasions. Mary was known throughout the community as a beautiful free spirit, always enjoying the richness and splendor life had to offer. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial will be held at the Slaughter family home on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m.
