| Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, February 20, 2016 Helen Moeny, 91 of Cottonwood, passed away on February 11, 2016. She was born on September 8, 1924 to Edwin and Alice Gerner. Helen graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's in education and received a doctorate from William and Mary in counseling. She worked in a school for some time, and spent 15 years teaching and working at the Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center in Virginia. Helen was also a Deacon in the United Methodist Church for many years and a Chaplain at Verde Valley Medical Center. Helen is survived by her husband William of Cottonwood; son Steve Simons (Jennifer) of Virginia and daughters Alice Weathersby (William) and Joy Simons, both of Arizona. Services will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 889 1st S St. in Clarkdale on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00am. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com |
