Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/12/2016

Edith McCuistion Ray, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, in Show Low. She was born Oct. 31, 1933, in St. George, Utah, but considered herself a native Arizonan because her parents, Arthur Robert and Vangie Lurie Alldredge McCuistion, lived in Mount Trumbell and that was where they called home.

Edith was a school teacher for 18 years beginning in 1980 and retiring in 1998.

In her life God was first, family second, and country third. She enjoyed tennis, bowling, horseback riding, scouting (which was important to her dad and her), family history, cake decorating, ceramics, baking (pies, donuts and Gone with the Wind pudding), cooking, reading (loved books), camping and music.

Edith spoke Spanish and loved the Lamanite people. She served a mission for 10 years serving as a worker in the Snowflake Temple.

Every year she hosted an Annual Cousins Week for all her grandkids where the song “Too-Tee-Tah” was a favorite.

Edith is survived by her husband, Almon Alonzo “Al” Ray of Eagar; sons Bruce Robert (Debra) Ray of Eagar and Brent Russel (Twila) Ray of Davenport, Iowa; daughters Sharie (Kenny) Price of Houston, Texas, Peggie (John) Price of Quinhagak, Alaska, and Laree (Marvin) Rowley of Middleton, Idaho; brothers Arthur Lloyd “Buzz” (Betty) McCuistion of Burley, Idaho, Dallace (Jane) McCuistion of American Fork, Utah, and Howard (Gloria) McCuistion of Jerome, Idaho; sister Karen (Rudy) Anderson of Salem, Utah; and 37 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Elaine Reynolds and two grandchildren, Trevor Smith and Kari Dawn Price.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow services at the Eagar Cemetery.

Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
