Orville Frederick (Boots) Heuer

Orville Frederick "Boots" Heuer 93, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Feb. 9, 2016. He was born on a farm near Hawarden, Iowa, on Nov. 8, 1922, to William F. Heuer and Eva K. (Witt) Heuer.

After growing up on the farm, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon returning home, Boots met Helen Beelner. They were married in August 1946. In 1959, along with their four children, Boots and Helen moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Boots owned and operated several cocktail lounges in Phoenix prior to moving to Prescott, Arizona, in 1971. In Prescott, he built and owned a shopping center, which is still in the family today. Boots and Helen retired to Sun City, Arizona in 1989.

Boots was preceded in death by his son Michael and grandsons Kelly O'Brien and Billy Heuer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Helen; sons Pat (Julie), Bill (Betty); and daughter Barbara O'Brien. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Boots will be interred in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Condolences may be made at www.menkefuneralhome.com.
