Julie (Raber) LaFuze

Julie LaFuze, 73, of Prescott, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at St. Edwards, Mercy Hospital, Fort Smith, Ark.

She was born July 14, 1926, in Prescott, to Walter and Adah (Hazlett) Raber.

Mrs. LaFuze earned her master's degree in education from the University of Arkansas. She divided her time between the American Veteran Caregivers Group and St. Paul's Anglican Church, serving as president of the Ladies' Guild and playing the piano and organ. he represented her church at the Anglican Conference in October 1998.

Mrs. LaFuze was preceded in death by her firs husband, Jack Lloyd and second husband, Bert LaFuze.

Survivors include her daughter, Janine Chalfant of Charleston, Ark., stepdaughter, Suzette Moe of Maricopa; sons, Mark Lloyd of Calendar Lake, Texas, and Jon Lloyd of Flint, Texas; stepsons, James LaFuze of Prescott and Terry LaFuze of Phoenix; sisters, Elinor Burkhard of North East, Pa., and Isabel Halley of Sun City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Requiem Eucharist Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 581 Lincoln Ave. Interment will be at the Skull Valley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul's Anglican Church, 581 Lincoln Ave., Prescott, Ariz., 86301, or to the Hembree Regional Cancer Center, 7301 Rogers Ave., Fort Smith, Ark., 72903.
