| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, March 2, 2016 Donald N. Tripp Jr. (JR), 60, passed away Feb. 24, 2016, in Sun City of a heart attack. He had his first heart attack 10 years ago and lived out his “second chance” with success and gratitude. JR was born on June 13, 1955, in Missoula, Mont., to Don and Vienna Tripp. JR loved life and his family and friends. He owned and operated a dump truck business in his winter home in Congress. His “girlfriend” (his red healer dog) rode as copilot in his truck and on his many trips back to Montana. JR graduated from Sentinel High School in 1973 where he was a state champion wrestler. He went on to graduate from North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, majoring in mechanics and went to the National Wrestling Championships, where he earned the fastest pin in the northwest. For the past few years he worked in fire camps in Montana, Idaho and Washington. He looked forward to his many fishing trip adventures with his dad and siblings. He loved to fish and took his last trip to Alaska five years ago with his brothers and dad (prior to his dad’s passing) and wanted to go back ever since. He always loved to talk to everyone he met, and nobody was a stranger. He was also a great mechanic and his expertise will be missed as he could work on anything from a motorcycle to a big rig diesel truck. We won’t know who to call now. He loved being a grandpa to his three grandchildren. They were a highlight to his life. Survivors include his “girlfriend”; mother, Vienna Tripp; daughter Kahma (Nathan); son Ben Tripp(Kristy) from his marriage to Cherie Cheff; grandchildren, Layne, Brooklyn, and Braedyn; brothers Gary and Dave (Patty) Tripp; sister Jan (Ron) Henderson, and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. The funeral will be at Lolo Community Church on Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. with open viewing at 10 a.m. and lunch provided. Burial will follow lunch at Florence Carlton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 573, Lolo, MT or Lolo Community Church at 11897 Lewis and Clark Dr., Lolo, MT 59847. |
