Georgia Barreras
(November 17, 1919 - February 22, 2016)

Georgia Barreras, 96 of Flagstaff died February 22, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Flagstaff, AZ on November 17, 1919. She married George Barreras here in Flagstaff where they raised their family in the same home that George's father had built in the Southside of Flagstaff.

Georgia worked many years in housekeeping at many hotels here in Flagstaff and was an active church member at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church. She also worked many years in the cafeteria at Northern Arizona University. Georgia loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren.

She had many friends throughout the Flagstaff area and frequently was known to sit on her steps of her Flagstaff home and talk to anyone who passed by. She loved enjoying time at the casino and bingo. Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who she encountered.

Georgia is survived by her two children and their spouses Lawrence (Marian) Barreras (Cottonwood), Margaret (Johnny) Montoya (Flagstaff); sisters Vera Lomeli and Carmelita Contreras, brother Ray Lomeli. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She loved talking to each one and listening to all of their stories.

Georgia is preceded in death by her husband George Barreras, her son Ronald Barreras and her sister Mary Montoya.

A visitation will take place Friday, February 26, 2016 at 9:15 am followed by Holy Rosary at 10:00 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, all at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
