Lucy Ann Walters Posted: Wednesday, Aug 20th, 2014 Sept. 12, 1930-Aug. 15, 2014 TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Lucy Ann Walters, 83, were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at Bell Park Towers with Chaplain Jill Bryan officiating. Lucy died Aug. 15, 2014 at Community Hospital in Torrington, and cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established to Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter. Arrangements were under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home. Lucy was born Sept. 12, 1930 in Phoenix, Ariz. to George and Marguerite Walters, of an Arizona pioneer family, her father being born in the Arizona Territory in 1895. Her youth was spent in Arizona and Southern California. After two years of college at UCLA, she worked in the design field: interior design, graphic artist and publishing and advertising. She was active in various family businesses, including auto dealership, construction and heavy equipment, mining and lithography. Her later years of employment were in the various convenience stores of Wheatland. She was married and divorced four times. The father of her children, G.L. Smokey Rowe, was the love of her life. She spent many happy years in and around Crown King, Ariz. in the Bradshaw Mountains and felt it was her “home town.” Her life was full and happy. Lucy is survived by her sister, Nancy Bonnar of Phoenix; her daughters, Cathleen Millar and her husband David of Guernsey, and Teresa Reisch and her husband Tony of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Smokey; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Patrick Goodwin; and a grandson, Jack Edward Goodwin.
