PLUTH, Michael E.
Michael E. Pluth, 100, died April 22, 2009 in Fountain Hills. He was born Sept. 29, 1908 to Matthew and Mary Pluth in Dragatus, Yugoslavia, immigrating to the United States in 1920.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Matthew, Joseph and Mike; his son, Ronald, and his step-son, Jack Brodiske. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Zorman, 47 years ago on the same date. His half-sister, Ann Smar, lives in Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Josephine Martino Brodiske Pluth; children Michael Jr. (Gwen) of Missouri, Rose Ann (Eugene) Sadoski of Arkansas, Joseph (Charlene) of Illinois; daughter-in-law Janet, (wife of Ronald); step-daughter, Jean Ratkovich-Baker, who lovingly looked after his care in recent years.
He had seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and a number of special stepchildren.
Mike retired from General Electromotive after painting railroad engines for 40 years. He had a great love for Slovanian music and enjoyed playing the accordion.
They moved to Fountain Hills in its beginning days. Until the last week he had always enjoyed good health, celebrating his 100th birthday last September with family and friends. Mike was a great joy to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be Thursday, April 30, 2009, 10 a.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Chapel, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
