Richard Clarence Stone “Dick”, age 84, passed away February 29, 2016 surrounded by loving family in Prescott, AZ. He was born November 26, 1931 in Spokane, Washington to Clarence Arthur Stone and Vaughna Cotter-Stone.

Dick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynn Stone. He also leaves behind six children Mark Byron Stone (Sarah), Mark Alan Stone (Tracey), Richard Stone (Susie), Vaughna Lockett (Ben), Sharon Windsor (Dave) and Chad Stone; his brother Chuck Stone (Pat), 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family man, military veteran, and public servant was a proud American who had a strong work ethic, a quick wit, and who loved adventure.

Dick is a Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Receiving the Navy Commendation Medal and being promoted to Captain during the Vietnam War are two notable honors during his 20 years of service.

Following his military service, Dick found success in various industries. While living in Wickenburg in the 70’s and 80’s, Dick owned Los Amigos TV, served as mayor and worked for Jones Ford.

He retired to care for ailing parents – a job he called an honor and a privilege.

In 2001, Dick received his real estate license, which led to a fulfilling and successful career alongside Lynn.

An avid hunter, fisherman, and camper, Dick instilled in his children a love of the outdoors. His passion for horse camping took him and Lynn to many beautiful places across Arizona, creating lasting memories and longtime friendships.

Their travels extended to many National Parks, Alaska, and Canada including any opportunities for mountain views and wildlife encounters.
