| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/04/2016 Alejandro “Alex” Cantu entered into rest unexpectedly in the afternoon Feb. 29, 2016, in Heber. He was born June 28, 1937, and raised in Hearne, Texas, to Jose and Fidella Cantu. Alex eventually moved to Phoenix in 1958, where he spent most of his life. He retired from Honeywell after 27 years of service. All who knew him, loved him. He was a very kind and generous man who helped many people. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Family was important to him. He will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Paula; four children, Alex, David, John and Silvia; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. And also survived by his nephew, Victor Gomez, who was like a son to him. A memorial service was held Thursday, March 3, at the Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor. Silver Creek Mortuary handled arrangements. |
