| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/18/2016 Duane “Bud” Jensen Caldwell died March 11, 2016, in Snowflake. Bud was born Nov. 13, 1929, to Edward Dahl Caldwell and Una May Jensen Caldwell in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Bud is the second of eight children. His professional career was spent with the British Petroleum Group and the Western Geophysical Company, both in the Canadian Arctic and in the Sahara Desert and many other places where he lived all over the world. He left Canada and came to Snowflake in 1972 and worked at the Snowflake Pig Farms as a manager until 1986. All who know him have the utmost respect for a man that would step into a home filled with over a baker’s dozen of “Chapin” children: Ed, Donnie, David, Lloyd, Debbie, Darlene, Deanna, Harold, Gerald, Kathy, Jordan, Wayne and Donna. His youngest daughter was Jana Rae Caldwell-Hanna. Bud also has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In 1986, he married Jean Perkins and inherited more children, Rance, Terrel, Dennis, Brent and Bardell. He is survived by his wife Jean of Taylor; daughter Jana and son Jordan of Alberta, Canada; brothers Jim and Ray Caldwell of Snowflake; Gary Caldwell of Lindon, Utah; and numerous members of his extended families. He was predeceased by his parents, Dahl and Una Caldwell, brothers Lemoyne and DeLynn Caldwell, and sisters Nedra Caldwell and Nada Morgan. Bud loved the outdoors, especially his dogs and horses. He even climbed on a bull in his mid-50s and rode it. He will be missed by his family and friends for all the good stories. All his children appreciated him for one of his greatest teachings—to always keep your word. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Love Lake Chapel. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements. |
