Stephen Linwood Leavitt 1942 - 2015

Stephen "Steve" L. Leavitt passed away at home with his wife Margaret and sister-in-law Charlotte Brand by his side.

He was born on July 27th 1942 to Catherine Mary Dacey and Stanley Linwood Leavitt in Weymouth, MA. Steve is survived by his wife Margaret Weant-Leavitt, daughter Shannon Leavitt Sauder (RJ), son Phillip S. Brown (Mindy), sister Linda Jane Leavitt, brother John Leavitt (Trish), grandsons Colin Sauder, Zachary Brown, and Kyle Brown, numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Steve was a resident of Cornville since 2004 but spent much of his time on the road as a driver/trainer for Werner Enterprises where he earned his "Million Mile Safe Driving" award and many other accolades. He was an employee there for 19 years and truly enjoyed his work.

Steve served in the Army with the 565 Ordnance Company and spent his service time in France in the early 1960's. His hobbies were many, including collecting scale model cars and trucks, using elements from nature, such as rocks and driftwood to make folk art.

He liked music of all kinds especially the Rolling Stones also collecting and listening to "Doo-Wop" music. He loved spending time on or near the water with his family, watching old movies and sitting in the courtyard with a glass of wine.

Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling "stories". He had a story for every occasion.

He had many friends far and wide and is missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of A Lifetime will be held on April 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm, at Oak Creek Valley Park in Cornville, AZ.
